If, for whatever reason, you have been in the dark about the Nigerian-born, London-based musical talent that is Vicktor Taiwo, I am about to remedy that. I worry, however, that my words are inadequate to properly describe the genius and uniqueness that is Vicktor’s sound. Think R&B/Soul/minimal electronica fusion, with powerful, brilliantly heartwarming song writing, delivered on a futuristic, wispy, diaphanous melody.

After the release of hissingle, Digital Kids, about two years ago, I was eagerly waiting for more from him (mostly so I could confirm that the awesomeness was not a fluke and I could publicly announce my immense love for the man), but a second single wasn’t released until last year. Paradise Island, an epilogue to his first single, is proof that you can’t rush genius. And if we still had any doubt, Vicktor’s latest single, Feathers & Wax, is all the confirmation we need; EPIC MUSIC! I mean, it’s tagged on SoundCloud as “cuddlecore folktronica”, how many more ways can we spell A.W.E.S.O.M.E.?! Listen here…

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait another year for more. Taiwo’s Juno EP drops on the 16th of June. Glory!
Until then, you can listen to his previous singles (linked above) and follow his tweets. In addition to music, he’s also passionate about photography so follow on Instagram and Tumblr.

Enjoy. And let’s know what you think?
Kov.
