Upcycle – reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original.

First time I saw an upcycled ladder in a living space, it was used in place of a nightstand in the bedroom and I thought it was genius. More recently, however, I’ve been seeing it used in so many different ways that I’ve often found myself asking, why didn’t I think of THAT? I think it’s amazing that I could pick up some discarded ladder and turn it not only into something functional – some sort of storage, for instance – but also aesthetically pleasing.

I especially love that the upcycled ladder can be used in any room in the house – living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, even outdoors. Need some inspiration? I’ve put together some of my favourite ideas and hopefully, you find one that inspires you enough to dust off that old ladder lying around in your backyard (or get a carpenter to make you one, you know?)

Be inspired…
