First, you might want to know that at the beginning of this idea, I was. Now that we have gotten my familiar spirit out of the way, allow me to tell you about this wonderful thing that is TwentySix.
It’s a story that started with ‘Desola who made a skirt for herself, a nice full ‘circle’ skirt; and then her buddies liked it and she said, why not share this with the world? And ta-da, TwentySix was born. What I like the most about the skirts is that they explore the concept of doing the most out of a little; so you get to see that you can dress a simple skirt up or down; have it with pockets or not.. or have it go down to your toes. The experimentation comes in the excellent fabric choices. ‘Desola picks vibrant hues and patterns that make statements all on their own..
There was a new shoot recently for their new prints shot by Tunde Mason (watch out). Oooh, did I say I was lucky to have shot the previous ones?
I love how personal the brand is.. You send in your waist size, a skirt is whipped up (in a week, on average) and then it gets delivered to you in this wonderful brown paper packaging tied up with string and a warmly addressed postcard. Kov and I have our closets filled with TwentySix-s.
Recently, ‘Desola of TwentySix decided to push things further with TwentySix dresses. They are gorgeous and quaint and simple and totally me. I’d buy them all (no, seriously, I’m working on it.)
I like how TwentySix pieces are for every woman: style and size; you’re basically given a canvas to project your own style on to. Yes, I’m a fan.
(This is my favourite! Look at the bold stripes, the little flare..)
There’s always something new with TwentySix, so you can indulge on Instagram and Facebook and Twitter. You can shop everything at their website. (All photos are from the website and Instagram linked above.)
