Desola of DIY fame is telling us about her love for this designer/illustrator today. Enjoy!
It’s kind of hard to know where to start with Jean Jullien. He is a graphic designer and illustrator from France. One of the few illustrators I know that has experimented widely with his work; from collaborations with sports brands, fashion brands to designing his own clothing and accessories. He also designs furniture, sculpts and has dabbled in interior design. But I am not here or all that serious stuff, I am here for his wit, puns and how he brilliantly puts out everyday truths using his illustrations while adding a bit of humour.
In Case of Ubiquity
“The installation was a love letter to New York city, drawn on 72 windows, and overlooking the skyline of Manhattan. A mix of observations of thoughts on the city.” (See More)

Social and Political Commentary
Here is an except from Jullien’s interview with The Great Discontent that explains why his work is so diverse and has stuck with me:
Experimentation is something I’ve found to be very helpful…If you stick to doing the same thing, then eventually that’s all people will ask you to produce, which is going to be boring for both parties.
Warby Parker Front Desk
However simple his work is, there is an undeniable intelligence to it. This is very much a Jean Jullien appreciation post!
