I first discovered the work of Brianna Mccarthy on Instagram and was instantly blown away by how diverse and colorful and absolutely vibrant her work is. Brianna is a self-taught mixed media visual artist living and working in Trinidad + Tobago. Her form is expressed beyond traditional media to include masking, performance art, and installation pieces.

She aims to create a new discourse examining issues of beauty, stereotypes, representation as well as documenting the process – particularly poignant in an ever smaller digitally connected world.

With several exhibitions and projects in the bag (and many more to come!), it is clear that this Trinidadian beauty is doing amazing things with her art, pushing boundaries and exploring issues that many would rather not speak about. Bold, daring, and captivating, we cannot help but be blown away by Brianna’s art and heart.

I can already picture spaces where I would love her work hanging in my future home.
