I’ve read so much good stuff since the last Saturday Mind Travel, it’s going to be a lot of restraint not to just offload all that good good on you. I’ll try.
It seems to be literary fiction award season and so I’ve been making the rounds and here are my faves:
1. For the Commonwealth Short Story Prize, I thought Light by Leslie Nneka Arimah was a lovely warm story. I liked King of Settlement 4 by Kevin Jared Hosein a lot (it reminded of Olufemi Terry’s Stickfighting Days somewhat) and my fave of the lot was Famished Eels by Mary Rokonadravu, the Pacific Regional winner.
